Official | Gabin Bernardeau completes Lorient switch
Gabin Bernardeau (20) has completed a switch to FC Lorient from OGC Nice. The France youth international had struggled to establish himself with Les Aiglons, following his move from Le Mans the previous summer.
Bernardeau joined Nice on a free transfer from formative club Le Mans FC last summer. With the latter, in Ligue 3 (formerly National 1), he racked up 30 league appearances the previous season, scoring three goals and registering eight assists.
However, following his free transfer to the Allianz Riviera last summer, the midfielder managed just eight appearances in all competitions. He has now made another switch, this time to Lorient, who next season will be managed by Alexandre Dujeux.
The fee has not been disclosed, but reports have touted a deal worth €1m. Bernardeau has signed a four-year deal with Les Merlus. Laurent Abergel, meanwhile, has moved in the opposite direction and the former FCL midfielder has already been presented as a Nice player.
