Le Mans’ Patrick Videira targeted to succeed Pierre Sage as Lens manager

In their search for a successor to Pierre Sage – who is reportedly in talks with Crystal Palace to take over from Oliver Glasner as manager of the Eagles – RC Lens have set their sights on Le Mans manager Patrick Videira as one of their top targets for the role, according to RMC Sport.

Talks with his entourage are said to have already begun, whilst Portuguese clubs are also said to be interested in the last few weeks.

Appointed as manager of the Sarthe-based club in the summer of 2024, the 49-year-old coach is coming off the back of two highly successful seasons, culminating in promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2026-27 season. In total, since his arrival from AS Furiani Agliani, Videira has recorded 43 wins in 78 matches in charge of Le Mans (with 21 draws and 14 defeats) and has suffered defeat only twice since the start of 2026.
