AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro to be dismissed as well as head coach Sébastien Pocognoli

A sporting revolution is brewing at AS Monaco. Nice-Matin and various outlets reported that head coach Sébastien Pocognoli was to depart imminently on the back of Monaco’s poor season. Les Monégasques crumbled in the run-in with back-to-back losses against Lille OSC and RC Strasbourg Alsace to finish the season in seventh place. Courtesy of RC Lens’ Coupe de France title, they have qualified for the Conference League play-off. The preliminary rounds for the tournament will take place this summer.

But Pocognoli won’t reportedly be the only one to face the consequences for Monaco’s dire campaign. Foot Mercato reports that club CEO Thiago Scuro is also expected to be sacked in the coming days. The Brazilian’s position was under scrutiny with Monaco failing to qualify for the Champions League for a third year running. Further organisational changes could be afoot at the Principality club in the coming weeks, the outlet understands.
