Newcastle United plot €46 million move for Allan Elias
Newcastle United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth €46 million in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TV Espirito de Porco, as relayed by Somos Fanaticos, Allan Elias is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are eager to bolster their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder in the summer transfer window, and they are ready to intensify their efforts to secure his services.
The Tyneside outfit will soon submit a bid worth €46 million to sign the Florianopolis native in the summer transfer window. However, Newcastle United will not be alone in the battle for the South American midfielder’s signature, as he is also a target for Liverpool. However, €46 million may be enough to land the youngster, as Palmeiras’s asking price is around €45 million.
Who is Allan Elias?
Allan Andrade Elias, better known as Allan, is one of the latest promising prodigies to rise in prominence in his homeland. Born in Florianopolis, the 21-year-old spent his formative years in Brazil, starting his youth career at Figueirense before graduating from the well-known academy at Palmeiras.
The youngster has made over 50 appearances for Palmeiras thus far, chipping in with seven goals and six assists. While the output needs to improve as he progresses, the young Brazilian playmaker’s growth and potential have piqued the attention of several well-known clubs. Premier League outfits, in particular, have shown interest in the youngster, with Liverpool and Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Premier League adventure beckons?
Newcastle United’s interest in Allan Elias makes sense. The Reds are combing the market for a versatile midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. While Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister have been impressive, Wataru Endo faces an uncertain future at Anfield. Additionally, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have recently captured the attention of high-profile clubs, and it would be sensible for Liverpool to be ready for any contingency.
As for Newcastle United, Joe Willock faces an uncertain future at St. James’ Park after his reduced involvement in recent seasons. Additionally, recent reports have claimed that Joelinton could leave the Tyneside outfit after the 2025/26 season ends amid his links with Saudi Pro League clubs. Several candidates have thus emerged on Newcastle United’s wishlist, with the Palmeiras prospect also a viable target.
The latest report has revealed that the Magpies are ready to pay €46 million to sign Allan in the summer transfer window. The valuation is slightly more than the asking price set by Palmeiras, with the Brazilian club valuing the 21-year-old midfielder at €45 million. Having rejected a bid worth €35 million by Napoli in recent times, Newcastle United will hope they can secure the youngster’s services for around €46 million in the coming months.
