Manchester United line up €80 million move for Bruno Guimaraes

Manchester United seem willing to break the bank and fork out €80 million to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes.

Michael Carrick has completely transformed the mood at Manchester United. The former midfielder has done wonders for them since taking charge at the start of the year, and they look set to secure Champions League football.

With European football set to return to Old Trafford, the Red Devils have some big plans for the upcoming transfer window. According to a report from Fichajes, United want to sign Bruno Guimaraes, and they are lining up a €80 million move for the Brazilian international.

Guimaraes has only gone from strength to strength since joining Newcastle United from Olympique Lyon at the start of 2022. He has been one of the standout performers for Eddie Howe’s team over the years. His consistent performances have placed him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs.

The Red Devils want Guimaraes to replace Casemiro

Manchester United are one of the clubs that are very keen on his signature. The Red Devils have been linked with him on more than one occasion. With Casemiro leaving after the end of the season, they want a new leader in midfield and consider the Newcastle skipper an ideal fit for their project.

His strong physical presence and ability to dictate the tempo make him exactly what they want from a new midfielder. They beleive the Brazilian international is an ideal partner for Kobbie Mainoo, and it could also aid the development of the English sensation.

While his contract at Newcastle runs until 2028 and he is a very important member of Eddie Howe’s squad, the Red Devils are prepared to try and prise him away. They are preparing an initial offer worth around €80 million to convince the Newcastle board.

It is certainly a significant financial offer, but it might take in excess of €100 million to actually land him at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, the Manchester-based giants might have to battle Real Madrid, who have been keeping tabs on the 28-year-old central midfielder for some time now.
