Manchester United could offer Altay Bayindir in Wilfred Ndidi deal
Manchester United will offer Altay Bayindir in the deal to sign 29-year-old Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi from Besiktas in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Sporx, Wilfred Ndidi is the subject of interest of Manchester United. The Red Devils are eager to bolster their first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 29-year-old Besiktas midfielder has emerged as a target for the Premier League club.
The latest report has revealed that the English giants may have an ace up their sleeve, as they are considering offering Altay Bayindir in the deal to sign the African midfielder in the summer transfer window. Interestingly, the Turkish international is a target for Besiktas, and a swap arrangement may be on the cards.
How has Wilfred Ndidi fared at Besiktas?
Wilfred Ndidi has been a pivotal figure since joining Besiktas from Leicester City last summer. The 29-year-old enjoyed an excellent stint with the EFL Championship outfit, spending eight fruitful years at the King Power Stadium and playing his part in some memorable campaigns for the Midlands outfit.
Ndidi was also part of the Nigerian squad that finished on the podium at the Africa Cup of Nations. Meanwhile, the player has made 24 appearances for Besiktas thus far, chipping in with two goals and one assist. His progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Manchester United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Manchester United wanted to sign Wilfred Ndidi in the winter transfer window, but a deal did not materialise. The continued interest is somewhat understandable, even though they should sign a top-class replacement for Casemiro this summer.
However, with Manuel Ugarte failing to make his mark since joining Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain over 18 months ago, they can do with two holding midfielders this summer. Ndidi is thus an option worth considering, even though Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba may be Manchester United’s top target.
