Predicted Chelsea lineup against Newcastle United: Sanchez in for Jorgensen; Neto suspended

Robert Sanchez will replace Filip Jorgensen in the Chelsea starting lineup when they welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea will be desperate to return to winning ways and continue the top-four charge when they host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Liam Rosenior has received a mixed bag of updates on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Pedro Neto is the latest absentee, as he will serve a suspension due to an FA misconduct charge. Meanwhile, Levi Colwill (knee) and Estevao William (hamstring) remain in the treatment room. Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk will continue to remain unavailable after failing a doping test several months ago.

However, Jamie Gittens is fit and available to take on Newcastle United this weekend. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Rosenior provided fitness updates on Gittens and Estevao.

The Chelsea head coach said, “Jamie is back involved, which is great news. Estevao is still a little bit further away. We want to be careful with Estevao because of the nature of his hamstring injury. The last thing we want to do is rush him back and see the injury recurring. So, we will see what he’s like for Tuesday’s game against PSG.”

Meanwhile, during his presser, Rosenior also answered questions about being focused on one game at a time instead of looking too far ahead of themselves.

The Chelsea boss said, “I don’t think too far ahead about the next game. At this stage of the season, it’s about the importance of each game, starting with the game tomorrow. My thoughts on PSG, and what that looks like on Tuesday, hasn’t even entered my head.”

Robert Sanchez should replace Filip Jorgensen between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Newcastle United on Saturday. The backline will feature Malo Gusto, Mamadou Sarr, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marc Cucurella.

As for the midfield unit, Andrey Santos will line up alongside Moises Caicedo in the double pivot, with Enzo Fernandez reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Joao Pedro will lead the line for the home side against Newcastle United, with Alejandro Garnacho and Cole Palmer completing the numbers in the offensive unit. So, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap will be among the backup options on the bench for the Blues.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Sarr, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Santos; Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Garnacho; Pedro
