Predicted Chelsea lineup against Wrexham: Garnacho, Delap to return in much-changed side

Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap will return to the Chelsea starting lineup when they take on Wrexham at Racecourse Ground in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday.

Chelsea will aim to secure a spot in the FA Cup fifth round when they lock horns with Wrexham for the fifth-round tie at Racecourse Ground on Saturday evening. Liam Rosenior has received a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Pedro Neto is available after serving a suspension in the Premier League game against Aston Villa earlier this week. However, Levi Colwill (knee), Jamie Gittens (hamstring), Dario Essugo (match fitness), and Estevao Willian (thigh) remain in the treatment room.

Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable after failing a doping test several months ago. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Rosenior provided fitness updates on Romeo Lavia, Estevao, and Gittens.

The Chelsea head coach said, “Estevao is back on the pitch, but he is not quite ready for this one. He just needs to clear a few more markers first, and we need to be careful with him given he’s had a hamstring injury. It will be a big boost to have him back with the group.”

“Elsewhere, Jamie Gittens is getting really close [to a return] and he had a really positive scan. We hope that he can be back with the group within the next seven days or so. In terms of from the Aston Villa game, there’s no injuries from that, which is fantastic.”

“Yeah. I am delighted for him. Romeo will definitely play a part and he’ll play a huge part for the rest of the season. We all know his attributes. He’s been itching to play but we’ve tried to build him in the best possible way. But yes, his chances will come and he’s definitely going to play in these next few games.”

Filip Jorgensen will retain his spot between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Wrexham on Saturday. The backline will feature Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Mamadou Sarr, and Jorrel Hato.

As for the midfield unit, Andrey Santos will line up alongside Moises Caicedo in the double pivot, with Enzo Fernandez reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Liam Delap will lead the line for the away side against Wrexham, with Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto being the two wide attackers. So, Romeo Lavia will make an appearance off the bench this weekend.
