Marseille’s Mason Greenwood could make Saudi Arabia move
It has been a turbulent season of change at Olympique de Marseille and it could be a turbulent summer, too, according to a report from L’Équipe.
The current Marseille squad was constructed in Roberto De Zerbi’s image, but with the Italian’s departure last month, there are question marks over the futures of many players, including Mason Greenwood. OM could have to offload several key players in the summer, regardless of whether they qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and Greenwood retains the highest value on the market, even if Manchester United’s retention of between 35% to 40% of the player’s rights decreases any potential profit margin for Les Phocéens.
A fire sale at Marseille?
L’Équipe understands that a move to Saudi Arabia is a real possibility this summer. He is not the only player linked with a move away from the Vélodrome. Geronimo Rulli’s and Geoffrey Kondogbia’s contracts expire at the end of next season and there are no talks over a renewal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doesn’t look likely to extend his current deal, which expires in 2027, whilst Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also a candidate for a departure.
