Arsenal lining up summer move for Matheuzinho

Arsenal are monitoring Matheuzinho ahead of a possible summer move as Mikel Arteta could seek a new right-back.

According to Esporte, Matheuzinho is being monitored by some clubs in Europe, including Arsenal. The Corinthians full-back has been impressive for the Brazilian club, which has prompted the Gunners to seek information about the defender, as Mikel Arteta could bring a new right-back in the summer.

Arsenal may have one of the strongest teams in the world, with their squad depth in particular being lauded as the best in the business. The Gunners brought in eight new players back in the summer, all of whom are starting for the first team this season alongside the regulars that have been retained.

Mikel Arteta is not expected to sit still when the summer window opens, as the Gunners boss and director Andrea Berta will bring new players to further improve the squad. The right-back area is being looked at with intent, especially if Ben White ends up leaving the club.

Ben White has interest from some clubs, with Everton keen on signing the defender. Should he leave, Arteta will seek a new player to compete with Jurrien Timber in the position, but one that suits the current Arsenal system, with Brentford’s Michael Kayode having been linked recently.

A new player might have entered the frame, with Corinthians full-back Matheuzinho the player that Arsenal like at the moment. The right-back has been impressing with the Brazilian side for some time, as they view him as a key star, and he is tied down until the end of 2028.

Arsenal to Make Matheuzinho move?

Matheuzinho was a player the Gunners sought information on a while back, which has seen the Brazilian media link him with a summer move. Given the nature of the star being a relative unknown around the European circuits, it could be a bold move from the Gunners, but the 25-year-old right-back is vastly experienced in his league.

At 25, he still has many more years to develop and become a key asset for any team in Europe, as moving away from Brazil might be a good move for his career. At the moment, there are only mere links to teams like Arsenal, but the 25-year-old right-back could prove to be a good option for the Gunners or someone else in Europe.
