Predicted Real Madrid lineup against Getafe: Alaba to return; Mbappe misses out
David Alaba will return to the Real Madrid starting lineup when they welcome Getafe to the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday.
Real Madrid will aim to keep pace with Barcelona atop La Liga when they host Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday night. Alvaro Arbeloa has a new injury concern to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Raul Asencio is the latest absentee after sustaining a neck injury in the UEFA Champions League clash with SL Benfica earlier this week. The Spanish centre-back has joined Eder Militao (thigh), Dean Huijsen (calf), Jude Bellingham (hamstring), Dani Ceballos (calf), and Kylian Mbappe (knee) in the treatment room.
Additionally, Arbeloa is sweating over Rodrygo’s fitness, with the Brazilian international recovering from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, the Spanish tactician provided a fitness update on Mbappe.
The Real Madrid head coach said, “As I mentioned the other day, we are very clear about what is happening, what has been happening, and what we want now: for him to fully recover from these discomforts so he can return at 100%, with maximum confidence and the greatest possible security, ensuring he feels completely recovered and those minor discomforts disappear.”
“We will take it day by day and monitor the progress. He will see how he feels, how he recovers, and how the evolution goes. At this moment, it is better not to set deadlines because it’s essentially discomfort, and we need to proceed day by day to see how he feels and based on that, we will make decisions.”
“We want him to return at 100%, and when that happens, he will come back. Kylian was not at the Bernabeu on Wednesday with the rest of his teammates because he had permission from his coach.”
Thibaut Courtois is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Real Madrid lining up in a 4-3-1-2 formation in front of him against Getafe on Monday. The backline will feature Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Alvaro Carreras.
As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga in the middle of the park, with Arda Guler reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Gonzalo Garcia and Vinicius Junior will complete the numbers in the offensive unit.

Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Rudiger, Alaba, Carreras; Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga; Guler; Gonzalo Garcia, Vinicius Junior
