Inter and Juventus Keen on Buddying Parma Midfielder
Adrian Bernabé has been on the radar of Inter and Juventus ever since Parma returned to Serie A and has taken a step forward this season, staying healthy and tallying three goals and two assists. Instead, the previous one was marred by a severe thigh problem.
According to Calciomercato, the Old Lady and the Nerazzurri are poised to battle for the Spaniard. The Ducali considered cashing in on him last summer, but ultimately decided the time wasn’t ripe.
The contract of Bernabé expires in 2027, keeping his price tag in check and facilitating Inter, Juventus, and the other clubs keen on him. His valuation is about €25M. However, the Gialloblù are in talks to extend it. While a renewal wouldn’t guarantee his permanence, it’d give his side more leverage, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Tuttomercatoweb). The Emilian side recently did the same with Mateo Pellegrino, who’ll be a popular target, prolonging his deal until 2030.
The 24-year-old midfielder has an important pedigree, having grown up in Barcelona and Manchester City’s youth academies. He joined the Ducali on a free transfer in 2021. The team supported him after he had to undergo a heart procedure to correct an anomaly that put his career in danger.
Our Take on Bernabé, Juventus, and Inter
While it won’t be cheap, the next window will be the right one to scoop him up. He’s right on the brink of making the final leap and becoming too expensive. An intermediate step rather than a move to Milan or Turin is possible. The Nerazzurri seem to have their strategy fairly mapped out already, while the Bianconeri might eventually have to pivot from their uber-expensive targets like Sandro Tonali, and he’d be a nice fallback.
