Wolves demanding £50 million to sell Mateus Mane this summer

Wolves are reportedly demanding at least £50 million to consider offers for emerging teenage talent Mateus Mane.

According to Fichajes, Wolves are set to demand at least £50 million for their emerging teenage talent Mateus Mane. The attacking midfielder has garnered plenty of attention following a string of impressive performances, as Liverpool and Manchester United are showing big interest ahead of the summer.

Wolves have had a terrible season, and currently they are the overwhelming favourites to suffer relegation. Their fate could be sealed sooner rather than later, as Rob Edwards’s men have only collected nine points all season after 26 games this season, and are currently 18 points away from safety.

While their season has been abysmal on all fronts, there has been a shining light in the form of teenage sensation Mateus Mane. The talented attacking midfielder made his Premier League debut at the end of last season in a brief cameo against Brighton, and was brought into the first team fold midway through the current campaign.

Mane has featured 15 times in the league this season for Wolves, scoring twice and assisting as many times. His overall game has attracted the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool towards the attacker, as Wolves are set to demand at least £50 million to sell their emerging teenage talent.

Wolves were uninterested in selling Mateus Mane in January, as they felt the value of the 18-year-old breakout prodigy could rise beyond their expectations. That remains the case, as the heavy interest from Liverpool and Manchester United could allow them the chance to extract the best possible fee in the market.

Liverpool or Manchester United for Mateus Mane?

Wolves could be forced to sell Mane once they are relegated, and Liverpool are reportedly making plans to get a deal in place early. The Reds view the 18-year-old breakout prodigy as a top investment opportunity for the future, especially with the level of performances Mane has shown in a short span in the Premier League.

The same theory runs at Manchester United, with the club already thinking about their future. The Red Devils already have some promising young talents in their squad, but adding a big talent like Mateus Mane would be seen as ideal in the context of the future. Hence, the two traditional giants of English football could go head-to-head for the signature of the Wolves teenager ahead of the summer.
