Still, Digard, Vieira: Franck Haise’s rivals for the vacant Rennes job revealed

Habib Beye was relieved of his duties as Stade Rennais manager on Monday. The former Red Star manager paid the price for a poor run of form in 2026, with Saturday’s 3-1 loss against RC Lens their fourth in succession in all competitions.

With reports of discord in the Rennes dressing room, too, the writing was on the wall for Beye, especially given that Franck Haise, whom Arnaud Pouille already knows from his time at Lens, was starting to be linked with the position.

Haise, who left OGC Nice in December, is the clear favourite for the role, however, there are alternative targets, L’Équipe understands. Rennes are also looking at Patrick Vieira, Laurent Blanc, Will Still, Didier Digard, and Alexandre Dujeux. The latter two are currently in jobs, with the former at Le Havre AC and the latter at SCO Angers. Both are exceeding expectations at their respective clubs, but Rennes would be forced to pay a compensation fee in order to acquire their services.
