Predicted Manchester United lineup against West Ham United: unchanged team likely; Sesko pushing for start

Benjamin Sesko will hope to return to the Manchester United starting lineup when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

Manchester United will aim to make it five successive wins to begin Michael Carrick’s second reign as the head coach when they lock horns with West Ham United at the London Stadium on Tuesday night. The Englishman has no new injury concerns to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Matthijs de Ligt (lower back) and Mason Mount (muscular) are closing in on returning, but will be in the treatment room for two more weeks. Meanwhile, Patrick Dorgu is recovering from a thigh issue that will keep him on the sidelines until March.

During his pre-match press conference, Carrick provided fitness updates on the three injured players. The English tactician suggested that Mount may return in the next game, which will be after ten days. However, he could not provide a clear picture of the time frame around de Ligt’s comeback.

The Manchester United head coach said, “Mason will be probably not for Tuesday, probably after, but definitely gone into the Everton game, he’ll be back. Matta, we’ll see how he develops over the, you know…the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we’ll see how he develops, but he’s positive, he’s moving in the right direction, but Mason’s a little bit closer than him.”

Senne Lammens is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against West Ham United on Tuesday. The backline will feature Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw. However, Noussair Mazraoui will be in contention to start if Carrick rests Dalot.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo in the double pivot. Bruno Fernandes will reprise the no. 10 role, with Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo being the two wide attackers. Finally, Bryan Mbeumo, a top transfer recommendation in FPL heading into Gameweek 26, will lead the line for the away side against West Ham on Tuesday. So, Benjamin Sesko will be a backup option on the bench again for the Red Devils.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Amad, Bruno Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo
