Tyrique George set to join Everton as deal agreed

Tyrique George is reportedly on the verge of joining 19-year-old English winger Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea before the winter transfer window shuts down.

According to an update by reputed English journalist David Ornstein, Tyrique George is on the verge of joining Everton. The Toffees have struck an agreement with Chelsea over a loan deal with a purchase option, with the 19-year-old winger set to undergo his medical tests.

A bigger report by David Ornstein on The Athletic has revealed that “the agreement is pending ratification on the Everton side” before the move materialises. Meanwhile, reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Everton will cover the Englishman’s “full salary” while scheduling the medical tests for Monday to complete his move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

How has Tyrique George fared in his career so far?

Tyrique George is the latest promising prospect to fall victim to Chelsea’s infamous hoarding policy. A graduate of the fabled youth division at the West London club, the 19-year-old enjoyed his breakthrough at the West London club at the onset of the 2024/25 season, and he was impressive under Enzo Maresca.

However, Chelsea’s aggressive spending last summer transfer relegated George to a backup role in the first half of the 2025/26 season. The English winger has managed only 494 minutes of game time in 11 outings thus far, chipping in with three goals and one assist. The situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, with Everton on the verge of securing the English attacking prospect’s services.

Move across the Premier League on the cards

Everton’s late interest in Tyrique George is understandable. The Toffees have been scouring the market for offensive reinforcements in the final week of the winter transfer window, as they have lost Jack Grealish for the rest of the 2025/26 season due to a foot injury.

Several candidates, including Luis Henrique, have thus emerged on Everton’s wishlist, with George also a viable target. The 19-year-old Englishman is now on the verge of joining the Merseyside outfit, as they have struck an agreement with Chelsea over a loan deal until the end of the 2025/26 season.
