Leicester City eyeing Mads Hermansen move

Championship outfit Leicester City want to bring West Ham United shot-stopper Mads Hermansen back to the King Power Stadium.

According to a report from Bold, Leicester City are keen on re-signing Mads Hermansen before the end of the winter transfer window. They want to secure his services on loan, but West Ham United seem reluctant to sanction his departure.

After coming up the ranks at Brondby IF and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Hermansen moved to the Premier League. He became a mainstay at Leicester City in no time and did wonders for them during his two-year spell.

With the Foxes getting relegated, West Ham snapped up the Danish shot-stopper for a bargain fee of around £20 million. While he started the season as their first choice, Hermansen was benched after just four league starts, and he has not been involved in a single league fixture since.

Given the lack of game time, the Hammers decided to sanction his loan departure in the winter window. It has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. His former club, Leicester City are also quite keen on signing him. But it seems the London club have changed their stance.

Hermansen unlikely to return to King Power Stadium

Complications have arisen, and West Ham United no longer wish to send the 25-year-old out on loan. The player is desperate to have more minutes, as a spot in Denmark’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad is at stake.

However, things do not seem too promising for him, as things are unlikely to change at West Ham. While a loan move to Leicester City could help, the Hammers are no longer willing to sanction it.

Given the kind of success he had at Leicester City, he would absolutely love to return to the club to get his career back on track. While there are other options as well, the biggest issue is that the London club have changed their stance regarding his future.

If West Ham are willing to offer him a prominent role going forward, the player won’t mind staying. But as things stand, nothing seems certain. However, the next few hours can give us a lot of clarity.
