Everton youngster George Morgan (19) has joined fourth-tier French side AS Cannes on loan until the end of the season, the Premier League club confirmed on Saturday. 

Morgan has yet to play for Everton’s first-team, although he has been a regular for the club’s U18 and U21 sides. The for layter he has five goal contributions in 28 games and for the former 16 goal contributions (13 goals, three assists) in 31 games.

Morgan thrown into promotion battle

Without any prospect of first-team football on Merseyside between now and the end of the season, he has now been sent out on loan. He is the first example of the partnership between Everton and Cannes, with both clubs owned by the Friedkins.

Morgan, a youth international with Wales, joins a Cannes side that are once again in the promotion race this season, having narrowly missed out on fulfilling that objective last season. There is no buy option included in the deal.
