Jhon Duran set to join Lille on loan
Lille OSC are plotting an ambitious move to sign Colombia international centre-forward Jhon Duran on loan (22). Gianluca di Marzio reports that the former Aston Vila goalscoring sensation is heading to bolster Bruno Genesio’s options up front. Les Dogues are in dire need of fresh legs upfront given Olivier Giroud is 39 and that Hamza Igamane is out for the foreseeable after tearing an ACL during the AFCON final.
Duran has been sent on loan to Türkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahce by his parent club Al-Nassr, who purchased him from Aston Villa for a reported €77m transfer fee a year ago. Lille’s Sporting coordinator Sylvain Armand confirmed today at UEFA’s Nyon headquarters that the Ligue 1 side was working overtime to sign attacking reinforcements before Monday’s deadline. Lille face Lyon this Sunday afternoon.
