Bahia agree Alejo Veliz deal with Tottenham, but face roadblock
Bahia face a massive roadblock in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur attacking sensation Alejo Veliz, despite reaching an agreement.
According to German Garcia Grova, Brazilian outfit Bahia are keen on acquiring the services of Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz. They already have an agreement in place with the Premier League giants, but face a massive roadblock, as he is currently on loan in the Argentine top flight.
Veliz came up the ranks at Rosario Central and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022. After an impressive season with the senior side, Tottenham secured his services. Since joining the North London club, he has hardly had enough game time and has often been out on loan.
Since he was unlikely to get enough game time under Thomas Frank, he returned to Rosario Central on loan for a season. While things are going just fine for him at his childhood club, there is interest in his services from Bahia.
Bahia are pushing hard to sign Veliz
The Brazilian outfit are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of their new season, and they feel Veliz could prove to be a great addition to their ranks. They have reached out to the Argentine club, as they look to acquire his services.
They have requested Rosario to cut short his loan spell. However, they haven’t received any positive update so far. The Argentine club do not seem to have any intentions of releasing him before the end of his spell, and the offer is set to expire tomorrow.
While Bahia have an agreement in place with Tottenham, a deal cannot be finalised unless they manage to convince the Argentine club to terminate his loan this month.
A move to Brazil could offer him a fresh challenge and a chance to get his career back on track. However, a transfer at this stage appears highly unlikely, meaning he may have to wait until the summer to return to Spurs.
