Axel Disasi’s name floated in Chelsea’s talks to sign Jérémy Jacquet

Talks between Stade Rennais and Chelsea over a transfer for Jérémy Jacquet (20) have cooled, as per a report from L’Équipe.

Jacquet has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month. However, as his manager, Habib Beye, confirmed, the defender remains committed and involved at Rennes. But there has yet to be an agreement between clubs. Les Rennais, in any case, are insistent on retaining Jacquet on loan until the end of the season. Chelsea could also yet find themselves in competition with Premier League rivals for the France youth international’s signature.

In talks between the Blues and Rennes, the name of Axel Disasi (27) was floated, as the Ligue 1 side look to potentially strengthen their defence between now and the closure of the transfer window. Disasi is a player that the Premier League side are trying to offload. The former AS Monaco centre-back has not featured for the first team this season.
