Lazio lining up €8-10 million move for Tim Iroegbunam
Lazio are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old English midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Everton in the winter transfer window.
According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Lazio are preparing an offer of around €8-10 million to sign Tim Iroegbunam. It will be interesting to see if Everton are willing to sanction his departure.
The 22-year-old has been a very handy option for them this season, especially in recent week. So, losing him in January could prove to be a mistake, even though reports a few weeks ago suggested that the Toffees are ready to part ways with him.
Everton need more quality and depth in the middle of the park. Iroegbunam has stepped up in the absence of Idrissa Gueye. He could do an impressive job for Everton during the remainder of the season as well.
The Merseyside outfit should look to keep a hold of the player until the end of the season. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. The player is reportedly valued at €15 million, and therefore, the upcoming offer from the Serie A club is unlikely to be enough to secure his signature.
Everton will be hoping to secure a place in the top half of the Premier League this season. They need to keep their squad intact until the end of the season and perhaps improve on it. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in the right additions during the January transfer window.
Iroegbunam would be useful for Lazio
Tim Iroegbunam would be a quality addition for the Serie A club, and it is no surprise that they are interested in signing him. However, the Biancocelesti might have to wait until the summer transfer window to get the deal done.
It seems unlikely that the Englishman will push for an exit this month. Everton are under no pressure to sell him, and they should persist with him until the summer. If they let the player move on this month, they could find it difficult to bring in a quality replacement.
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old English midfielder will want to play regularly at this stage of his career, and moving to Italy could be exciting for him. However, moving in January seems highly unlikely.
