Jurgen Klopp happy with Red Bull group amid Real Madrid links
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly happy in his role with the Red Bull Group amid his links with Real Madrid, with Los Blancos ready to go all out to land him.
According to a report by Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp is the subject of interest of Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are scouring the managerial market for a long-term head coach appointment after parting ways with Xabi Alonso this week. However, a deal for the former Liverpool manager will not be straightforward, as the 58-year-old is happy with his role with the Red Bull Group.
Jurgen Klopp and his career so far
Jurgen Klopp is one of the most legendary managers of his generation, even though he has not won dozens of trophies. However, his impact at the club level goes beyond the numbers, given the droughts he ended at various clubs. He rose in prominence at FSV Mainz 05 before guiding Borussia Dortmund to three trophies, including successive Bundesliga titles.
However, Klopp’s stock skyrocketed during his spell with Liverpool, with the Merseyside outfit winning almost every “major trophy” under his tutelage. The 58-year-old ended Liverpool’s decades long wait for the elusive Premier League title, with the Reds also winning the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup during his tenure.
The German tactician called time on his legendary stint with Liverpool 18 months ago, and he has been with the Red Bull Group as Head of Global Soccer for over a year. However, widespread reports have linked Klopp with several clubs, with Real Madrid among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
La Liga adventure on the horizon?
Jurgen Klopp has been on Real Madrid’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as the Merengues are scouring the market for a head coach who can provide long-term stability at the Spanish club. While Alvaro Arbeloa will hope to retain his position at Real Madrid, his future beyond the 2025/26 season is uncertain.
Several candidates have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s wishlist, with Klopp also a viable target. However, a deal may not materialise, as the former Liverpool manager is happy in his role with the Red Bull Group.
While the Spanish giants will do everything they can to secure Klopp’s services, a deal will not be straightforward. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can turn the 58-year-old German tactician’s head in the coming months.
