Official | France schedule two friendly games before 2026 World Cup

France have scheduled two games before flying to their 2026 World Cup base camp in Boston, Massachusetts, the French FA has confirmed. The games will take place on Thursday, June 4 and Monday, June 8. The day after, Les Bleus will cross the Atlantic and fly to the United States’ Eastern seaboard. According to L’Equipe, France will host Ivory Coast for their first pre-World Cup game. The fixture is set to be held at Nantes’ Stade de la Beaujoire, in what could be a nod to Didier Deschamps. The France national team manager is a Nantes Academy graduate.

Deschamps’ final game as France head coach on home soil should see Les Bleus face a Scandinavian national team, probably as a bid to prepare France for their last World Cup group stage game against Erling Haaland’s Norway. The location of this game on Monday, June 8 remains undecided. It could be set at Lille’s Stade Pierre Mauroy considering that Saint-Denis’ Stade de France is set to hold concerts and that the Parc des Princes’ pitch is expected to be changed.
