Al-Hilal make approach for Rennes’ Mohamed Kader Meité amid Premier League interest

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have made a concrete approach to sign Stade Rennais centre-forward Mohamed Kader Meité (18), according to a report from L’Équipe.

The Saudi Pro League initially turned to signing big stars, but they are increasingly attentive to bringing in bright prospects, particularly from France. Over the summer, Saimon Bouabré, one of AS Monaco’s brightest prospects, Nathan Zézé, the great hope of the FC Nantes defence, and Stade de Reims’ Valentin Atangana all made the move to the Gulf State over the summer.

Could Meité be set to join them? L’Équipe understands that Al-Hilal have made an approach as they look to steal a march on the competition. More clubs are expected to be interested in the summer. Al-Hilal are prepared to pay a large fee for the centre-forward, although there is also strong interest from an unnamed “big” Premier League club.
