Fiorentina eyeing January move for Jack Harrison

Relegation-threatened Serie A club Fiorentina will reportedly look to sign 29-year-old English winger Jack Harrison from Leeds United in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sports journalist Zinny Boswell, Jack Harrison is the subject of interest from Fiorentina. La Viola will aim to reinforce the offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 29-year-old Leeds United winger has emerged as a target for the relegation-threatened Serie A club.

Fiorentina and Leeds United are in talks over a possible deal for the Englishman, with the Italian outfit keen on securing his services on loan with a purchase option until the end of the 2025/26 season. The Whites are open to Harrison’s departure in the winter transfer window, with La Viola “making progress” on the deal.

How has Jack Harrison fared at Leeds United?

Jack Harrison has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Leeds United from Manchester City. The Whites initially signed the 29-year-old on loan in July 2018 before completing a permanent move 12 months later. However, the player has seen his stock plummet at Leeds United since they suffered relegation from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.

The English winger subsequently spent two seasons on loan with Everton before returning to Leeds United last summer. However, Harrison is a backup player for Daniel Farke, managing only 443 minutes of game time in 13 appearances thus far for Leeds United. So, it is hardly surprising that he faces an uncertain future at Leeds United, with the West Yorkshire outfit ready to part ways with him in the winter transfer window.

Serie A move on the horizon?

Fiorentina’s interest in Jack Harrison is understandable. The relegation-threatened Serie A club will aim to sign several players in the winter transfer window to avoid dropping to the second division and climb out of the drop zone in the second half of the 2025/26 season. So, they have focused on signing a centre-back (amid links with Radu Dragusin) and bolstering their attack.

While Manor Solomon has already joined Fiorentina, they have also shown interest in other wingers, including Wilfried Gnonto. Harrison has now emerged as a viable target for La Viola, with the Italian outfit in talks with Leeds United over a loan deal with a purchase option.

Fiorentina and Leeds United are “making progress” in talks over a loan deal. However, “there is still a long way to go for an agreement to be reached” in the coming days. With Leeds United open to the 29-year-old Englishman’s departure, a move may materialise.
