Milan and Juventus Trying to Set Up Major Bosman Moves
Milan and Juventus might not necessarily bolster their squads any further in January unless they find the exact right type of acquisitions, but are setting the stage for some free-agent coups, as they are after Leon Goretzka and Bernardo Silva, respectively, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
The German veteran, who’s also in Napoli’s crosshairs, is considering leaving Bayern Munich after a long sojourn. The Rossoneri have inquired about his demands and will assess whether they align with their MO. They aren’t the most lavish team when it comes to wages.
While Milan joined the race for Goretzka in recent days, Juventus have been keeping tabs on Bernardo Silva for a while. Their ownership hasn’t moved to acquire him in January at this stage, despite some chatter of that ilk. He remains a cornerstone for Manchester City.
Other than eyeing the Bayern Munich fixture, Napoli have opened talks with Joao Gomes, whose deal with Wolverhampton will also run out at the end of the campaign. The Partenopei have quickly reached an agreement with him. They’ll attempt to come to terms with Wolverhampton to add him in January. He headed to England from Flamengo in 2023 for €19M in 2023 and has totaled 7 goals and 4 assists in 113 games since. He has 10 caps with Brazil to his name.
Our Take on Juventus and Milan Pursuing Goretzka and Bernardo Silva
It’s a bit deflating for the state of Serie A that champions of that caliber pass through either in the early or the very late stages of their career, but they have also been quite effective. As for the German international, it’s shaping up to be a nice duel between two coaches who love veterans.
