PSG manager Luis Enrique denounces ‘fake news’ amid reports of problems in Ousmane Dembélé contract extension talks

Reports of difficulties in talks to renew the contracts of Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola are rife. Foot Mercato first reported that Dembélé had rejected a contract extension offer from Paris Saint-Germain, whilst L’Équipe have reported that Bradley Barcola, also in contract renewal talks, could leave the club at the end of the season.

Speaking to Le Parisien, Dembélé’s entourage have denied that an offer has been refused, stating that talks with PSG are ongoing, but that not offer has even yet been tabled.

Speaking ahead of Monday night’s Coupe de France tie against Paris FC, Luis Enrique has gone on the offensive, accusing outside forces of trying to destabilise the club. “There are always rumours about PSG, with a lot of fake news. Some want to destabilise the club, but it is normal to have talks,” began the Spaniard.

He continued, “But that stays in private and that will remain the case. We know what we want. That is the most important thing. We are calm.”

Dembélé’s deal with Les Parisiens runs until 2028, as does Barcola’s. It is reported that Willian Pacho is on the verge of extending his deal, which runs until 2029, whilst there is more urgency in trying to clarify the futures of Fabián Ruiz and Senny Mayulu, both of whose deals expire at the end of next season.
