Jürgen Klopp is Florentino Pérez’s dream signing to replace Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid head coach
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez dreams to convince Jürgen Klopp to lead Los Merengues, according to Foot Mercato. The Spanish giants will dip into the managers market after parting ways with Xabi Alonso. Real Madrid have announced this Monday that the 2010 World Cup winner with Spain was no longer the team’s head coach.
Alonso has been replaced by one of his former teammates with Liverpool, Real Madrid and the Spanish national football team: Alvaro Arbeloa. The former right-back is not expected to lead Real Madrid for the long-term as Pérez reportedly greatly values Klopp.
The German head coach left Liverpool in 2024. He has been appointed Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull in 2025. Shoud they fail to lure the former Borussia Dortmund manager, Real Madrid also monitor Italian free agent Enzo Maresca, who has left Chelsea on New Year’s Day.
