AS Monaco in talks with Leicester City to sign Wout Faes
AS Monaco have entered into talks with EFL Championship side Leicester City to sign Wout Faes (27) during the winter transfer window, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The Belgian international centre-back could therefore make his return in Ligue 1 after his breakthrough seasons with Stade de Reims. He joined Leicester City, who were then in the Premier League, in 2022 over a reported £15m transfer fee. Faes remains contracted with the Foxes until 2027.
Foot Mercato reports that talks are underway between all parties involved to reach an agreement that will see Faes link up with Sébastien Pocognoli’s Monégasques. The Principality side are in dire need of defensive reinforcements following an injury crisis that recently claimed Mohamed Salisu, whose season is over after tearing his ACL. Monaco host Lorient on Friday.
