Manchester United rival Arsenal in Igor Tyjon chase

Manchester United and Arsenal are all set to battle it out for Blackburn’s teenage attacking sensation, Igor Tyjon.

Igor Tyjon’s sensational rise at Blackburn Rovers has not gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs from the English top flight are keen on acquiring his services. According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United have entered the race to sign him, and they are all set to battle rivals Arsenal for the teenager.

Tyjon joined the Blackburn Rovers youth setup in the summer of 2023 from Rochdale. The yougster went up the ranks at some pace, and he was officially promoted to their first team last summer. So far, the teenager has only featured in three matches for the senior side, but his performances for the youth teams have been top-notch.

More importantly, the 17-year-old has been doing wonders for England’s Under-18s. Following his impressive performances, interest in Igor Tyjon has skyrocketed. With multiple Premier League clubs keen on his signature, the teenager has turned down the chance to sign a professional contract at Ewood Park.

Arsenal and Manchester United to battle for Tyjon

Blackburn Rovers have made several attempts to secure his future, but they haven’t been able to convince the 17-year-old. They have reluctantly accepted that the youngster will leave them in the near future.

Arsenal are favourites to sign the English striker. They have already had multiple bids over £1 million turned down by Blackburn since the summer of 2024. The Gunners have not given up on their pursuit, and they will continue to make efforts to sign Igor Tyjon.

This window is Blackburn’s final chance to secure a significant fee, as his scholarship terms expire at the end of the season, following which they will only earn a compensation fee if he joins another English club.

While Arsenal are ready to pounce, they are set to face stiff competition from Manchester United. The Red Devils have snapped up Chido Obi from the North London club in the past. So, it won’t be much of a surprise if they manage to beat them to Tyjon’s signature.

The Red Devils are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and the 17-year-old attacking sensation certainly seems to be an ideal fit for their long-term plans.
