Deniz Undav confident Stuttgart teammate Jamie Leweling will be ‘a perfect Premier League player’ someday
While VfB Stuttgart attacker Jamie Leweling has decided to reject a Premier League move for the time being, Leweling’s friend and teammate Deniz Undav believes it shall still only be a matter of time before Leweling moves to the Isle. At least, that’s what Undav claimed in his usual sardonic style during interviews in the mixed zone last night. Undav favors a tongue-in-cheek manner of speaking.
Undav spoke after he and six of his fellow Stuttgart starters quickly dismantled favored Bayer Leverkusen in Leverkusen’s own BayArena on Saturday night. All seven of VfB starting XI remain in contention to represent Germany at the forthcoming World Cup. Undav made clear he expected to be serving alongside Leweling on Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann’s team.
Undav grateful Leweling will remain
“Thank God [he’ll be staying],” Undav told reporters. “It shapes up to be a good summer for him too. If he continues playing like this, he’ll be upping his market value. He’s a perfect player for the Premier League.
“When he has a clear mindset, he’s difficult to defend against,” Undav continued. “He’s physically strong and fast. He actually has everything you need to be a footballer, [jokingly] except for my technique.”
“He has everything it takes,” Undav concluded when commenting on a player for whom Stuttgart has rejected not one, but two big money EPL bids for. “I hope [the English clubs] continue to up their offers.“
