Aston Villa agree Brian Madjo deal
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have agreed a deal worth €12 million to sign FC Metz attacking sensation Brian Madjo.
Brian Madjo has had a sensational rise at FC Metz, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs have been keeping tabs on the 16-year-old attacker, who is already playing first-team football. But it seems Aston Villa have managed to beat the competition for his signature.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa have reached an agreement with Metz to sign the teenage sensation. They are all set to pay €12 million to acquire the services of the 2009-born striker. He is all set to sign a five-year deal, and a medical has already been booked.
Madjo joined Metz’s youth setup towards the end of 2023. He started with their Under-17s and has managed to break into the first team in no time. He was officially promoted to the senior side last summer and has already made five appearances.
While he is yet to score his first goal at the highest level, his impressive rise has resulted in interest from across Europe. Quite a few clubs have been scouting the English youth international, who has the potential to be the next big thing.
Villa have managed to strike a deal for Madjo
While there was no shortage of interest, Villa were working behind the scenes to get ahead of the competition. It certainly comes as a surprise to many, but they have already reached an agreement with the French club.
They are set to fork out €12 million to sign the youngster. While it seems like a massive fee for someone who is only 16 and has played just a handful of first-team games, Madjo’s potential suggests it could prove to be a massive bargain in the long run.
He might not be ready to feature in Emery’s team from the start, but he is not far off and could soon be handed his first-team debut for Villa. Since a medical has already been scheduled, it’s not long before we have an official confirmation for the transfer.
