Official | Gary O’Neil replaces Liam Rosenior as Strasbourg head coach

RC Strasbourg Alsace have announced the appointment of Gary O’Neil as head coach. The Alsatians were in the market for a head coach following Liam Rosenior’s departure to fill Chelsea’s managerial vacancy. O’Neil was the leading contender to replace the 41-year-old Englishman. The former Wolves manager met BlueCo’s ownership group during the weekend.

O’Neil was a free agent after being dismissed by Wolves midway through the 2024-2025 Premier League season. The 42-year-old head coach will lead his first training session on Thursday. He will make his Strasbourg debut on Saturday as Strasbourg face Avranches away in the Coupe de France RO32.

I am proud to join this incredible club and I can’t wait to get started“, O’Neil said. “We have a high-quality group of players and clear, ambitious goals for the season. My priority is to work hard with the team and give everything for the club’s success.”
