Mike Maignan set to sign five-year AC Milan contract extension

France international goalkeeper Mike Maignan (30) is close to committing his future with AC Milan, according to Sky Sport’s Gianluca di Marzio. The former PSG Academy product has entered the final months of the five-year deal he signed back in 2021 when he joined Milan on the back of his Ligue 1 title with Lille OSC.

Maignan impressed in his debut season in Lombardy and played a vital part in Milan’s Serie A title in 2022. The 30-year-old also became’s France’s undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper following Hugo Lloris’ retirement in early 2023. Maignan’s contractual situation also attracted the likes of Chelsea, but it seems that “Magic Mike” will stay put in Milan.

Gianluca di Marzio reports that AC Milan are closer than ever to reach an agreement regarding Maignan’s contract extension. The Rossoneri have proposed Maignan a €5.7m salary per year. Further contracts are expected to take place between Maignan and the Serie A giants, but the goalkeeper is expected to put pen to paper over a five-year contract extension.
