Fiorentina’s Amir Richardson expected to complete OGC Nice move

Amir Richardson (23) is expected to join boyhood club OGC Nice on loan this January, Nice-Matin reports.

Fabrizio Romano first revealed Nice’s interest in signing the midfielder and later that same day, the Nice-born player expressed a desire to join the club.  “It’s my boyhood club. I grew up in Nice and my mum still lives there,” he began. “I know that they’re in a difficult period but Le Gym are a very good Ligue 1 club […] Nice is clearly my priority.”

Nice-Matin understands that the move to the Allianz Riviera is expected to be completed. It is expected to be a loan deal, however, before it can be completed, Les Aiglons must first offload players. There are plenty of candidates for a departure, including Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga, both of whom have been on sick leave since fans ambushed the team bus at the end of November.

Tom Louchet is another candidate to leave this month, as is Kevin Carlos, who has struggled since joining from Basel in the summer. The issue with the latter is that, having already also played for the Swiss club this season, he cannot join another club that follows the European calendar.
