Angers head coach expects Crystal Palace target Sidiki Cherif to leave amid interest from Paris FC
Angers SCO head coach Alexandre Dujeux has confirmed that Sidiki Chérif (19) is more than likely to leave his formative club after breaking through in the first part of the Ligue 1 campaign. The 19-year-old striker is being monitored by Premier League outfit Crystal Palace and Ligue 1 rivals Paris FC. Given Cherif’s rising value and Angers’ dire financial situation, Le Sco are expected to cash in as early as this winter.
“With the bids we’re getting, we expect Sidiki Chérif to leave“, Dujeux said this Friday, in a press conference attended by Ouest-France, before Angers’ away Ligue 1 game to Le Havre. “That’s how it is, I’ve accepted it. It’s important for the long-term stability of the club. This is not good news for me as a coach, but for the club, it is essential.“
According to reliable transfer insider Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Angers have turned down two bids from Paris FC regarding Chérif with Angers reportedly holding out for a €30m total transfer package that includes €5m worth of add-ons. Talks remain underway between Paris FC and Angers.
