Lyon and Lille monitoring Villarreal target Giorgi Tsitaishvili
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Giorgi Tsitaishvili (25), who is on loan at FC Metz from Dynamo Kyiv, will become a free agent at the end of the season. The Georgian winger has gained the attention of clubs in Ligue 1, with Olympique Lyonnais and Lille OSC are both considering a move for him in the summer.
However, the two French sides are not alone. Lazio are also thought to be in the race, while Villarreal are said to be leading the charge. The La Liga side have the advantage of already boasting Tsitaishvili’s international teammate Georges Mikautadze, who signed from Lyon in the summer.
Tsitaishvili had a slow start to life in France this season, but before the start of the winter break was beginning to show his promise. He put in a solid performance against Paris Saint-Germain, scoring in the 3-2 loss. His only other goal came in the 3-2 defeat to Stade Brestois.
