Arsenal and Chelsea compete to land Marseille’s Darryl Bakola

Darryl Bakola’s (18) future at Olympique de Marseille has arrived at a critical juncture. The Frenchman has managed to break into the first team this season, even if opportunities remain somewhat limited. He is the subject of interest from Premier League clubs amid OM’s attempts to tie him to a new contract, as per a report from Foot Mercato.

He has played eight matches for OM this season, making his one and only start in the Champions League tie against Newcastle United. Keen to retain their minot, the club have engaged in attempts to tie him to a new deal for several months, with his current deal up in 2027. He now has a concrete proposal to respond to.

Newcastle and Bundesliga sides also interested in Bakola

OM believe that this offer is fair and so a conclusion – positive or negative – is expected upon his return after the short winter break. Should he refuse, Les Phocéens would be open to letting Bakola leave. As per Foot Mercato, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United, VfB Stuttgart, and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in the forward.
