Predicted Manchester United lineup against Bournemouth: Sesko in contention; Amorim unsure of Mbeumo involvement
Ruben Amorim is unsure if Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui can play for Manchester United when they host Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday.
Manchester United will be eager to continue the recent unbeaten run when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Monday night. Ruben Amorim may have three new roster issues hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Amorim is unsure if Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo, and Bryan Mbeumo will be available to take on Bournemouth ahead of their departures for the Africa Cup of Nations. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire (hamstring) and Matthijs de Ligt (lower back) remain in the treatment room. Benjamin Sesko may be a candidate for the bench if he regains enough fitness by Monday.
However, the Slovenian international has been recovering from illness after shrugging off his knee issue. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Amorim provided fitness updates on Maguire and Sesko. The Portuguese tactician also discussed the availability issue surrounding the AFCON players.
The Manchester United manager said, “Maguire is out, de Ligt is out. Ben we have to see. We have to see if he’s available. He had some [food] poisoning, but we’ll see. Let’s wait. We have two trainings still. The other two are out, Benjamin we will assess.”
“I think he has something in his back [de Ligt], I don’t know for sure. Sometimes you see it’s not a big injury because he finished the game quite well against Crystal Palace, but he has some pain. You sometimes think it will be solved during this week, but sometimes he feels a little bit of pain and we have to be a little careful with that.”
“I expect today [Friday] to have a decision or maybe tomorrow [Saturday] but we are waiting until the last moment to have all the players [Mbeumo, Amad, Mazraoui] available, to choose the best team to start the game.”
Senne Lammens is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him against Bournemouth on Monday. The central defensive unit will feature Noussair Mazraoui, Ayden Heaven, and Luke Shaw. Leny Yoro will replace Mazraoui if the Moroccan international has already left for AFCON.
Meanwhile, Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot will start as the wing-backs, with Patrick Dorgu waiting in the wings if Amad is unavailable. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot. Finally, Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount, and Bryan Mbeumo will form a dynamic offensive trifecta. Joshua Zirkzee will start if Mbeumo misses out.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Mazraoui, Heaven, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha
