Predicted Arsenal lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers: Saka to return; Rice in for Zubimendi

Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice will return to the Arsenal starting lineup when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates on Saturday.

Arsenal will be eager to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Emirates on Saturday night. Mikel Arteta has a new roster issue to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Riccardo Calafiori is the latest absentee, as he will serve a suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the 2025/26 season last weekend against Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Arteta has been sweating over the fitness of William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice, and Leandro Trossard after they missed the game against Club Brugge earlier this week.

Additionally, Gabriel Magalhaes (groin), Cristhian Mosquera (ankle), Kai Havertz (knee), and Max Dowman (ankle) remain in the treatment room. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Arteta barely provided a fitness update on any player while responding to questions about Saliba, Timber, Rice, and Trossard.

The Arsenal manager said, “We have to wait and see. Yesterday we didn’t train, so we have an extra day between this afternoon, let’s see if he can be available or not. It remains the same. If you asked me for the Everton game, I think he [Saliba] will be fit; for tomorrow, I don’t know.”

“Again, depends how he [Timber] feels today. It was a knock that he picked, and he wasn’t feeling comfortable. So again, I think it’s a matter of days, but whether it’s tomorrow or not we’ll see. Let’s see how he [Rice] is today. He was ill, that’s an illness, normally in a few days it gets resolved, but we have to wait and see. Again, another one [Trossard] that is a matter of days. It sounds boring, but it’s the reality, so we don’t know.”

David Raya is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Arsenal lining up in a 4-3-3 formation in front of him against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. The backline will feature Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Piero Hincapie, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

As for the midfield unit, Declan Rice will replace Martin Zubimendi, allowing the Spaniard some rest. The English international will accompany Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze in the middle of the park. Finally, Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line for the home side against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka being the two wide attackers.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Ben White, Timber, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Rice, Eze; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli
