Aston Villa poised to sign Alysson, player set to travel next year

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are all set to sign Gremio attacking sensation Alysson, the Brazilian winger set to travel to England next year.

Clubs in the Premier League always keep a close eye on the Brazilian market in search of the next big thing, and Aston Villa seem to have found one for themselves. They identified Alysson as an ideal fit for their project, and according to Radio Imortal, the Birmingham-based club have an agreement in place to sign the teenager in January.

Alysson has come up the ranks at Gremio, the 19-year-old was promoted to their first-team mid-way through 2025. He has already featured in 41 matches for their senior team and has even contributed towards three goals.

The teenager has made quite a name for himself with his impressive rise at the Brazilian club, and scouts from some of the biggest clubs in Europe have been keeping tabs on him.

Villa have struck a deal to sign Alysson

But it seems Aston Villa have already won the race for his signature. Unai Emery’s team spotted him early and were quick off the blocks to strike a deal with Gremio.

They have agreed a deal worth €10 million plus another €2 million as add-ons to sign the right-winger, who is set to join the Birmingham-based club in January. He is expected to undergo his medical at his new club before the end of the year.

While the teenager is unlikely to have a prominent role at the club from the start, he certainly has the potential to be a special player, which is one of the major reasons why Villa have been so keen on securing his services.

For now, Alysson will add depth to Emery’s team, and he could prove to be a very important member of the squad. With the club very much in the title race, his arrival could give them much-needed depth in the final third.

While he prefers playing out wide on the right, he can feature anywhere in attack as well as a number ten. His versatility and fearless approach could do wonders for Villa in the second half of the season. In the long run, the 19-year-old could become one of their mainstays.
