Aston Villa plotting move for Joaquin Panichelli

Aston Villa have entered the race for the signature of Chelsea and West Ham United attacking target Joaquin Panichelli.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa seek more firepower in the final third after a sensational start to the season. They are serious contenders for the Premier League title, and in order to further bolster their chances, the Spanish manager seeks more quality in the final third.

According to a report from Fichajes, Villa have their eyes set on Joaquin Panichelli, who has been doing wonders for RC Strasbourg in Ligue 1. Given the Argentine striker’s sensational performances, the Birmingham-based outfit are seriously considering making a move for him.

Panichelli has taken his game to the next level since joining the French club from Alaves last summer. He has been involved in a total of 19 matches across competitions and has bagged 10 goals. The 23-year-old striker’s impressive performances have earned him an international debut, and it has also placed him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in England.

Premier League trio to battle for Panichelli’s signature

Unai Emery’s team have been closely monitoring him in recent months, and are considering making a move for him in the upcoming transfer window. However, they are not the only club keen on his signature as Chelsea and West Ham have also been keeping tabs on him.

The Hammers are short of options in the final third, and Panichelli could prove to be a great long-term acquisition for them. With Joao Pedro not having the desired impact and Liam Delap struggling to stay fit, even the Blues are considering signing another striker.

Chelsea will certainly have an advantage over other clubs in their pursuit of Panichelli, as he currently plays for their sister club in France. Villa seek more quality as well as depth in the final third. His arrival would increase competition for a place in the starting XI and might bring the best out of everyone.

With Ollie Watkins not at his best, Panichelli could be a very interesting option to have for Emery. However, the option isn’t that straightforward as the French club will be reluctant to sell.
