Leeds United plot ambitious move for Roony Bardghji
Daniel Farke’s Leeds United are looking to acquire the services of Barcelona sensation Roony Bardghji as they look to boost their chances of survival.
Leeds United were on fire last season as they won the Championship and secured a return to the Premier League. However, their return to the top flight hasn’t really gone according to plan, as they are only two points clear of the drop zone as we head into the winter window.
They want to avoid relegation at all costs and are looking at the January transfer window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad. Daniel Farke is looking for more firepower in the final third, and according to a report from MOT Leeds News, the Yorkshire-based outfit have their eyes set on Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji.
While Farke was under immense pressure, recent results have helped his cause. The win over Chelsea and a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Liverpool have earned him enough breathing room. However, with the club 16th on the table and just two points clear of the drop zone, they are looking to reinforce their squad in January.
Leeds plot a raid on Barcelona for Bardghji
Leeds have shown an interest in Swedish gem Bardghji, who joined Barcelona last summer from Copenhagen. While he is an important part of their long-term plans, the 20-year-old has had very limited game time under Hansi Flick this season.
Given the number of quality wingers the Catalan giants have, he won’t have a prominent role in the second half as well. As a result, the young right-winger seems interested in a move away from Camp Nou, as he wants to play regularly.
While he is only 20, given his pedigree and experience, Bardghji could prove to be a very valuable addition to their squad. Signing the Swedish international won’t be that easy. Even if Barcelona are willing to sanction his departure on loan, Leeds will have to convince the youngster, and they might even face a lot of competition for his signature.
However, Gabriel Gudmundsson, who has been doing wonders for Leeds, could look to convince his compatriot about a move to the Premier League.
