Tottenham want permanent move for Randal Kolo Muani, face Arsenal threat
Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly aim to complete a permanent move for 26-year-old French international Randal Kolo Muani next summer.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Randal Kolo Muani may complete a permanent move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next summer. The Lilywhites are mulling over keeping the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain misfit for the long haul, and a summer deal may be on the cards.
However, the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are not alone in the race to sign Kolo Muani, as he is also a target for Arsenal. Additionally, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are keen on securing the Frenchman’s services, leaving Tottenham in a spot of bother.
How has Randal Kolo Muani fared at Tottenham?
Randal Kolo Muani has endured a stop-start stint since joining Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain this past summer. The 26-year-old attacker’s stock plummeted after moving to PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in a big-money deal in September 2023. However, he was solid during a short-term loan spell with Juventus, amassing ten goals and three assists in 22 outings.
While Kolo Muani was eager to return to Juventus, Tottenham secured his services instead. However, the French international has managed only 519 minutes of game time across 11 appearances thus far for Tottenham, scoring his first two goals earlier this week against PSG. That has been enough to compel the North London club to seek a permanent move.
Permanent move to Tottenham beckoning?
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in completing a permanent move for Randal Kolo Muani makes sense. The Lilywhites want a long-term solution for their issues in the final third, as they have failed to replace Harry Kane since the Englishman joined Bayern Munich two years ago. So, seeking a summer deal for Kolo Muani is understandable.
However, Tottenham will face stiff competition from Arsenal in the race to sign Kolo Muani next year. The North London club’s interest in the 26-year-old Frenchman is surprising, considering Mikel Arteta has three strikers in his squad. Even if Gabriel Jesus leaves next summer, Arsenal will not need another striker.
Nevertheless, the PSG misfit is a target for Arsenal, and they will compete with Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus for his signature. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the French international, with a permanent move away from PSG on the cards.
