Predicted Manchester United lineup against Everton: Zirkzee, Mount to return; Cunha a doubt
Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount will return to the Manchester United starting lineup when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Monday.
Manchester United will be eager to return to winning ways when they host Everton at Old Trafford on Monday night. Ruben Amorim has new injury concerns to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Benjamin Sesko picked up a knee injury in the game against Tottenham Hotspur, and it will keep him on the sidelines for the foreseeable future. The Slovenian international has joined Harry Maguire (hamstring) in the treatment room. Additionally, Lisandro Martinez has yet to regain enough sharpness to return from a long layoff.
Amorim has also been sweating over the fitness of Kobbie Mainoo and Matheus Cunha, with the duo recovering from knocks. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Amorim provided a fitness update on Sesko.
The Manchester United manager said, “He is going to stay out for a few weeks, I don’t know how long, but it is not that serious. We have to be careful with him, he is going to recover, he is doing the recovery and is feeling better. So in a few weeks I expect to have Ben [Sesko].”
“Maguire is not ready. Kobbie didn’t train today but I think tomorrow we could see Kobbie, so we will see. He [Lisandro Martinez] is becoming close to be ready to play. Of course we need to be careful as he is going to struggle in the first [few] minutes. He is clearly in the better position compared to two weeks ago.”
Senne Lammens is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in the usual 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him against Everton on Monday. The central defensive unit will feature Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Luke Shaw. Meanwhile, Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu will start as the two wing-backs.
The wide duo will protect the centre-backs and provide width in the final third. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the centre of the pitch. Finally, Joshua Zirkzee will make a rare start as the central striker, with Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount completing the numbers in the offensive third.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Mount; Zirkzee
