Four Serie A club vying for Federico Chiesa

Four Serie A clubs are keen on bringing Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa back to Italy in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a report from Fichajes, Federico Chiesa could be heading back to his homeland in January, as he has failed to establish himself at Liverpool under Arne Slot. The Italian international has struggled to get regular minutes, and four Serie A clubs are ready to offer him an opportunity to get his career back on track.

After struggling with injuries at Juventus, Chiesa ended up joining Liverpool in the summer of 2024 to revive himself. Unfortunately, the debut campaign didn’t go according to plan for the 28-year-old as he spent the majority of the season on the bench.

While he had the opportunity to leave the club in the summer, the Italian winger decided against it. He wanted to fight for his place in the team. Chiesa had an impressive start to the season, with some impactful performances off the bench.

Chiesa could push for an exit in January

But those cameos haven’t helped him earn a prominent role in the team. He only has 336 minutes of first-team action spread across his 13 appearances despite having contributed towards five goals. The lack of minutes has frustrated the 28-year-old, who is now reconsidering his decision.

He could look to push for a move away in the upcoming transfer window, amidst interest from multiple Italian clubs. While Slot would love to have someone like him on his bench, he might not be able to hand him enough minutes, given the number of attacking signings they made in the summer.

The Reds are expected to add another winger going forward, which could further hamper Chiesa’s cause. As a result, they are unlikely to stand in his way if he decides to leave. Inter Milan, Napoli, AS Roma and AC Milan are the clubs that are keeping tabs on the Italian international.

Italian giants could battle it out for Chiesa

Given his track record in the Serie A, all four clubs are willing to bet on him. He is only 28, and they feel he could turn things around if he gets a prominent role in the team.

Inter Milan are looking for someone who is capable enough of unsettling opposition defence from wide areas, and Chiesa is considered an ideal fit. AC Milan seek more depth in the final third and believe the former Juventus star could complete Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic in the final third.

Following Noa Lang’s poor performances, Napoli are also in the market for a new winger, and Chiesa could be an interesting option for them. AS Roma are also looking to reinforce their attack and could look to lure the Italian winger back to his homeland.
