Predicted Chelsea lineup against Burnley: Estevao in for Neto; Reece James in midfield
Estevao Willian and Reece James will return to the Chelsea starting lineup when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
Chelsea will be eager to continue the recent unbeaten run when they lock horns with Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. Enzo Maresca has received positive updates on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Benoit Badiashile (muscular), Moises Caicedo (knock), Enzo Fernandez (knee), and Pedro Neto (groin) have regained fitness after their recent issues. However, Levi Colwill (knee), Dario Essugo (hamstring), Romeo Lavia (thigh), and Cole Palmer (groin) remain in the treatment room, with Palmer also stubbing his toe to add to his woes.
Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk is still serving a suspension after failing a doping test several months ago. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Maresca provided fitness updates on several players, including Cole Palmer.
The Chelsea manager said, “Cole won’t be available for tomorrow, no. For sure he won’t feature in this game, and for sure not for Barcelona or Arsenal. Unfortunately, he had an accident at home two days ago where he hit his toe. It is fractured. It’s disappointing but these things can happen.”
“It’s nothing too serious but it’s causing him some pain on his little toe and for sure he’s not going to be available for this week or next. He was very close to being back with us from his groin issue. Which is very good but then he had this problem with his toe, which has set him back. It’s nothing major but he needs a bit more time to recover.
Maresca also conveyed good news on a few players. The Chelsea boss said, “Moi came back last night. I haven’t seen him yet but I’ve been told he’s okay and he will train today. Benoit is back and he’s available for tomorrow, which is very good news for us. Enzo and Pedro used the international break to recover from the little issues they had and recover the energy levels. They are both okay and available for tomorrow’s game.”
Robert Sanchez is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Chelsea lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Burnley on Saturday. The backline will feature Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, and Marc Cucurella.
As for the midfield unit, Reece James and Moises Caicedo should pair up in the double pivot, with Enzo Fernandez being a backup option on the bench. Joao Pedro will reprise the no. 10 role, with Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao Willian being the two wide attackers. Finally, Liam Delap will lead the line against Burnley on Saturday.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Chalobah, Fofana, Cucurella; James, Caicedo; Estevao, Joao Pedro, Garnacho; Delap
