Manchester City express interest in Said El Mala

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are interested in acquiring the services of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United attacking target Said El Mala.

The German youth international has had an impressive start to the new season, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs from England have taken note of his performances and seem willing to make a move.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United already had their eyes on the FC Koln attacking sensation, and according to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Manchester City have also entered the race for the signature of Said El Mala.

Pep Guardiola’s team have registered concrete interest in the teenager. They consider him an ideal fit for their long-term future and are willing to rival all top clubs in their pursuit.

FC Koln struck a deal with Viktoria Koln for El Mala during the summer of 2024, but they decided to let him continue at the German third division for another year. He had an impressive loan spell, and on the back of it, they have integrated him into their senior team.

He has had an impressive start to life in the top flight. In just 385 minutes of first-team action spread across his 10 league outings, the 19-year-old winger has four goals and two assists. His work hasn’t gone unnoticed, and soon there could be a bidding war for him.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the teenager following his impressive start. They are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and they feel El Mala has all the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League.

City are ready to battle rivals for El Mala

O’Rourke recently revealed that Pep Guardiola’s team have also entered the race. While speaking about El Mala’s future on the Inside Track podcast, the transfer expert said:

“Yeah, he’s really pushed onto the scene this season, El Mala.

“(He’s) one of the most exciting young players in the German Bundesliga, four goals and one assist in nine appearances for Koln this season, which has brought him onto the radar of some of the top clubs in European football.

“I did a story last month on Football Insider suggesting that Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United were all sending scouts to watch El Mala, and now Manchester City are the latest club to show interest in the exciting winger.

“That’s no surprise. All the top clubs do their homework on the best young players who are making waves in European football.”

City have sent officials to watch him in action in recent weeks. Pep Guardiola is quite impressed by the teenager, having watched a few videos and heard a lot of positive stuff from his scouting team about the Koln winger.

Guardiola’s team could soon make a move for the teenager, as they would love to beat the competition to his signature. While Koln will struggle to keep hold of him for long, they will certainly demand a significant fee with his contract running until 2030.
