Villarreal want at least €50 million to sell Georges Mikautadze, Tottenham ready to pay
Villarreal are reportedly willing to let summer signing Georges Mikautadze leave in January amid Tottenham’s interest for around €50 million.
According to Fichajes, Georges Mikautadze could leave Villarreal if an interested club can stump up €50 million for the Georgian. Having arrived in the summer from Lyon, the forward is already attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham, who would reportedly be open to paying what the Spanish side wants.
Georges Mikautadze left Lyon in the summer amid turmoil at the French giants, as Villarreal took their chances in signing the forward for €30 million. The Georgian has since been a good performer for the Spanish giants, scoring five times across all competitions, while laying off two assists in the process.
Villarreal are already aware of the big interest the forward attracts in the market, as Tottenham are in the mix for Mikautadze ahead of January. The north Londoners are looking for a new forward to improve their attacking setup, and have set their sights on the Georgian as a potential option.
The €30 million star is not the only option under consideration, as there are others, but given the complexities of the January window, the hopes of landing their top target Samu Aghehowa, are fading. The same could be said about others like Ademola Lookman, with Spurs set to miss out on the Atalanta star.
Meanwhile, they could be open to letting Mathys Tel leave on loan in January, which could see Thomas Frank demand a new attacker. Mikautadze could be a solid option given his age and the profile he brings to the team, as Villarreal could be convinced to sell him despite only signing the former Lyon star in the summer.
Villarreal wants €50 million for Georges Mikautadze
Villarreal are aware of the interest from Tottenham and would only consider a sale if a €50 million fee is on the table. Spurs are reportedly open to paying up the required sum to get the forward, as they feel the Georgian could be the right fit for their plans.
There will be a few more decisions to make before signing a new forward, such as Mikautadze, as the future of Richarlison remains under scrutiny. However, for now, Spurs will continue to look at different options, including thinking about paying €50 million for Mikautadze ahead of January.
